The Sèquia, which we can enjoy today as a leisure park, was built in the mid-14th century to overcome the drought suffered in Manresa at that time. With and itenerary of 26km, and a 10 m height difference, it crosses torrents and dried up rivers thanks to about thirty aqueducts and tunnels.
The path beside the Sèquia, which has been used for constant maintenance of the canal by the "sequiaires" (staff) of the Sèquia park, dates from the same period. Nowadays, this path has been adapted so that visitors can enjoy the Sèquia Route on foot. Crossing woods, market gardens and fields of crops, everyone can discover the natural wealth of the Bages region. The route can be followed from end to end without too many difficulties or as short or medium-length walks, normally returning to the starting point.
The facilities and spaces making up "Parc de la Sèquia" are: the Sèquia canal, "L'Agulla" Park and the Center of visitors of Parc de la Sèquia, the Centre of Water "Can Font" and the Museu de la Tècnica (Museum of Technology).

Its function is to communicate both historic and heritage values of the Sèquia, as well as the environmental values presented along its route.

Centre de l'Aigua Can Font (Center of Water)

Located at La Masia de Can Font, it is an educational and interpretation center of water which has two permanent exhibitions: one dedicated to the rational use of water and the other, to the urban water cycle. In the chapel next to the center we can find a visual space that leads us to the recognition of the sounds of water.
In the Masia you can also find an educational space with classrooms, labs and demos as well as a documentation center and archives aimed at scholars and researchers from water-related issues.

Open the last Saturday of the month, except December, and other days, with visits by appointment.
Museu de la Tècnica de Manresa (Museum of Technology)

Located in the monumental building of the "Dipòsits Vells" (old warehouse), who collected and stored water from the Sèquia canal, offers two permanent exhibitions: one dedicated to the medieval canal, with a complete sample of objects related to the Sèquia and the city's supply of water, and the other dedicated to the ribbon industry, a textile specialty textile, a bit unknown but very important and with strong roots in Catalonia, and especially, in the capital of Bages region.
Visiting times:
From Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 14pm and arranged hours.
Closed on 1st and 6th January, 25th and 26th December and all August.
