The German artist Joseph Beuys is an example of the inspiring capacity of Saint Ignatius legacy in Manresa.
Joseph Beuys visited the cave in 1966 and Saint Ignatius became a model for his creations. As a result, once in Dusseldorf, he performed the action Manresa, which symbolized his mystical contact with Saint Ignatius after his visit in Manresa.
In memory of that, in 1994, took place the official placement of the Beuys Cross, made by the Danish artists, H. Chirstiansen and B. Norgäard.
