Moianès

The Moianès is a natural, clear and well defined region. Despite having a relatively small area and being surrounded by three well characterized regions such as Bages, Osona and Vallès Oriental, it has a very precise geography itself, a different climate, vegetation and particular ecosystems, a distinctive and diversified economy, an original and unknown cultural heritage at the same time, a rich and intense personality and a population that has given it, for years, a cultural and touristic interest.

Its privileged location, close to the city but far away at the same time makes the visitor can escape between forests and nature or between villages, shops and streets.

The region comprises ten municipalities: Calders, l'Estany, Moià, Monistrol de Calders and Santa Maria d'Oló, that belong administratively to the Bages region; Castellcir, Castellterçol, Granera and San Quirze Safaja belonging Vallès Oriental and Collsuspina belonging to Osona region.

Some of the points of interest to visit are the prehistoric caves of "Toll" in Moià, the monastery of Santa Maria de l'Estany or the House-museum Enric Prat de la Riba in Castellterçol; Beside these places, it is remarkable to visit the small villages surrounded by nature and tranquility.
