La Seu is the principal monument of Manresa.
The Gothic church we can see today was designed by Berenguer de Montagut, who also designed works as important as Santa Maria del Mar in Barcelona. Architectural conception is characteristic of Catalan Gothic: austere decoration and predominance of horizontal volumes, with a very broad nave. The work began in 1325, but the church was not finished until the end of the 15th century. The main façade is Neogothic, designed by Alexandre Soler i Marc advised by Antoni Gaudí.
La Seu is also very interesting because of the works of art preserved inside it, particularly the set of Gothic altarpieces.
