Conscious Ignatian Way

In 1522, Manresa welcomed a pilgrim named Ignatius of Loyola, who came from Azpeitia. After visiting Montserrat, he was intended to follow the way to Barcelona to embark to Rome and continue walking towards the Holy Land. However, chance or fate brought him to Manresa because Barcelona was closed due to a plague. The eleven months he spent in Manresa led him to a profound personal and spiritual transformation that later on allowed him to found the Society of Jesus, now present around the world.

Manresa inspired, illuminated and transformed him, and with this activity, we intend to bring people closer to this process.

All will begin in the beautiful Oller del Mas winery, where there will be an activity to connect with the landscape, the forest and the vineyards. From Oller del Mas, we will walk in silence following the Ignatian Way to Manresa. Here, we will have another experience of connection with the landscape, the urban landscape, and within ourselves.

We will finish the experience by visiting the Basilica of La Seu, where Saint Ignatius found silence and connection, and we will taste local and proximity products accompanied by wine from Oller del Mas.

It is a 4-hour activity.

Recommended schedule: early morning until midday.
