Manresa 1522: Ignatius' city

The Interpretation centre Manresa 1522: The city of Ignatius, located in the old Conservatory Theatre in Sant Domènec Square, shows how the city was like in the sixteenth century, when it hosted St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1522.

Using several pieces from the collection of the County Museum of Manresa, it recreates the city of Manresa that knew the saint and that disappeares during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), like the Convent of the Dominicans -known as the Preachers, located in the area of the current interpretation centre, and El Carme church.

Visitors will also go deep into the sixteenth century through a model of the city that indicates the places visited by Ignatius, and an audio-visual presentation.
