Manresa Desconeguda

La Manresa Desconeguda ("Unknown Manresa") consists of guided tours scheduled as part of Manresa's Festa Major, aiming to bring citizens closer to heritage buildings and spaces that are not usually open to the public. Co-organized with the Centre d’Estudis del Bages, these tours are celebrating around thirty editions, offering access to iconic city locations such as the Fàbrica Nova, the torrent dels Predicadors sewer system, Civil War air-raid shelters, or the Atlàntida cinemas, among others.

This year, the Unknown Manresa visits will take place on Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28, at the Convent de les Caputxines and the Fàbrica dels Panyos.

Thursday, August 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Visit to the Convent de les Caputxines 

Nearly four centuries of cloistered life 

A tour of the convent founded in 1638 at the birthplace of Mother Serafina, founder of the Capuchin order in Spain. Visitors will see the cloister with restored Gothic capitals, the work areas, and the rooms occupied by the sisters until a few months ago. The destruction suffered by the convent during Tragic Week (1909) and the Civil War (1936) will also be explained.

• Duration of the tour: approximately 1 hour
• Tour with sign language interpretation and partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Special needs must be specified at the time of booking.

200 years of Els Panyos

The oldest preserved river factory in Catalonia

 From the dam to the factory, a journey through the 200-year history of this iconic building from Catalonia's early industrialization, recognized as a Cultural Asset of National Interest.

• Start of the tour: Under the Pont Nou bridge (descent from Carretera de Cardona)
• Duration of the tour: approximately 1 hour
• Tour partially accessible to people with reduced mobility. Special needs must be specified at the time of booking.
• Comfortable footwear, sunscreen, water, and mosquito protection are recommended.
