More than 36 million years, in the geographic heart of Catalonia, there was a sea that disappeared with the rise of the Pyrenees, in a process that has left spectacular rock formations which have defined the landscape and society of the territory.
The Geological and Mining Park of Central Catalonia, formed by the Bages region and municipality of Collbató, is a unifying project that highlights the geological and mining attractions of the area, as well as tourist assets under a common denominator, geotourism with an interesting and high quality tourist offer, which includes culture, nature, geology, mining and gastronomy.
Some places of the Geological Park are the Toll Caves (in Moià), The saltpeter Caves (in Collbató), the Geology Museum Valentí Masachs, 46 mining and geological points of interest and an extensive business network related to tourism.
