Valentí Masachs Geology Museum is located in the School of Engineering of Manresa (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya) and it is the Museum of Geology of the UPC. It was founded in 1980 and Dr. Valentine Masachs was in its first director.
This museum is different from traditional museums of geology, because part of the basic collections of minerals, fossils and rocks from the Catalan and other places, it is exhibited the usefulness that the minerals have to the daily life, all this with the help of attractive and educational showcases that facilite the work of teachers by their students' learning.
At the time, the museum visit is intended for students and visitors, reflect, discuss and take personal and collective initiatives especially in the sections: Earth is exhausting its resources, Radioactivity: pros and cons, and Minerals and people.
